There was a koi fish named Kevin who lived in a pond in the backyard of a house. Kevin was no ordinary koi fish. He had the gift of the gab and loved to make people laugh. One day, a group of children came to visit the pond, and Kevin decided to put on a show. He swam up to the edge of the pond and said, "Hey, kids! What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fshhhhh!"

There was a koi fish named Frederick. Frederick was not like the other koi fish in his pond. He had big dreams and aspirations beyond swimming around all day. You see, Frederick wanted to fly.

Every day, Frederick would stare up at the sky, watching the birds fly by, and he dreamed of soaring through the air himself. He tried everything to make his dream come true. He jumped out of the water, he flapped his fins as hard as he could, but nothing seemed to work.

A comic story about Bubbles, a fish with canine ambitions.

Once upon a time, there was a Koi fish named Bubbles who thought he was a dog. He would wag his tail whenever his owner approached, make excited little splashes at feeding time, and even try to bark like a dog. His owner, a dog lover, smiled at his enthusiasm but kept treats over the water and the dog away from the pond’s edge.

Koi can look wonderfully dignified right up until a pellet appears. Their movement and familiar routines give owners plenty of material for jokes. The comedy below is our human interpretation of the pond, rather than proof that fish are plotting punchlines.
